expensive, long cue dinnertime about 30 minutes, freshly made food, nice presentation, clean place.
The soufflé pancake here is excellent! It is so fluffy, airy with rich egg flavor! And the mixed berries pancake is so cool! The sweet and sour taste of fruits balance the sweetness of the pancake, it is so heavenly tasty! And the flat white is so smooth , with rich coffee aroma! The bubble tea is also really good too! Highly recommended!
Really nice place to check out. The pancakes are good, but a little "eggy" tasting for pancakes. This is based on someone coming from the states, so this is coming from my experience based on American pancakes. They carmelized sugar on the banana and that was amazing! This place gets busy, so get there early. The servers are really good about making sure your water is full. Their drinks are nice and everything has a great place presentation.
Enjoy the pancakes’ time
This is the most popular restaurant of selling pancakes in Hong Kong and most of the tourists commented that it is No.1 in Hong Kong. Thus, there is always a long queue outside of the restaurant.
I and my friends came to Ocean Park today and we left early to go the restaurant as we did want to line up. Actually we didn’t see the queue but we still needed to wait about 5-10 minutes.
There are only four soufflé pancakes to choose. The most charming one must be strawberries pancakes so we ordered two and other pancakes were green tea and hazelnut with banana. The cakes were especially delicious because they were fluffy, creamy and full of eggy. It’s scrumptious. And the airy pancakes could hold until I finished them. Nevertheless, the strawberries were so sour.
This place was recommended to us by friends in HK to try. So when we came to HK. We had to try! One negative right off the bat. They don't have a lot of space and because of that. The line up is very long. Our family waited about an hour before we were sat down. And so we had to be here about an hour seated to make the wait worthwhile!! We ordered two pancakes.
The first pancake was fluffy but really soft. Did not like. It was mushy and it just didn't taste good. The second pancake was better. A little bit more solid, but still fluffy. Service is a little slow. And the food was okay. I think most of it is hype.
The pancakes themselves was just "ok" if you don't mind the long wait. Then definitely worth a try. But I personally wouldn't recommend coming back because the food is ok and on top of that the wait times are really long. Not worth it in my opinion.
Walked past this Japanese soufflé pancake shop 🥞 and saw a long queue on Monday 4pm. So joined the queue and waited for 20 minutes for a table. Seating is a bit weird, you have to share a table in the fast food chain format and you have to order and pay at cashier.
Waited 25 minutes for the soufflé pancake because it is made to order. They do have some USB charging station if you are super bored (though I didn’t bring my cable 🤦🏻♀️).
Ordered the Original Pancake and it looks amazing 😋 soft and fluffy! Impeccable! Would highly recommended to anyone who have a sweet tooth 👍🏻
Hidden inside I.T. in Hysan Place, Flipper's has some delicious Japanese style fluffy pancakes! Although the line was very long, I do suggest coming if you have either never tried these pancakes or if you are a die-hard fan of them. The pancakes themselves were sweet and eggy in taste, and the accompanying ingredients are great as well. Aside from the pancakes, they also offer various drinks too.
Souffle pancakes are trending in Hong Kong, but my first souffle pancake was at K11 and unfortunately I was given an extra strand of hair and the taste was too buttery for my liking. There is another popular one in MK called I love you Dessert Bar but the location is inconvenient, as well as that, there is a latecomer am.pm which does affordable souffle pancakes.
Anyway, decided to try FLIPPER's because it is on the HK side and celebrities go there.
Went early because I didn't want to queue and it wasn't busy as expected.
Compared to all the other places, this one is the priciest but you get decent cream.
Decided to get the melon because I like melon and it does not have syrup like the strawberry and banana versions.
It turned out to be really good because there was no buttery taste and it was light and fluffy, whereas other places, the texture is just like foam and it disappears into nothing.
The best part is the cream because it is thick creamy cream and the melon was super sweet as well.
I was reminded by the staff not to use a knife to cut the souffle pancake as it ruins it.
